The MOVING TOGETHER 2055 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) presents the comprehensive vision for the region's transportation system. The Plan guides the selection and implementation of transportation projects across all modes within the Memphis MPO Planning Area, which covers parts of Tennessee and Mississippi, for at least the next 20 years or more. It details both short- and long-term policies and actions to support an efficient, integrated transportation network for moving people and goods through the area, and it directs the use of federal transportation funds. The RTP is updated every four years to incorporate emerging trends, adjust to shifting priorities, include new funding assumptions, and ensure compliance with federal regulations. The image below provides information on the planning process and timeline for the 2055 RTP development.
